The strange thing is, I can perfectly read from these usb storage devices. Computer locks up when copying large files to USB storage (it doesn't matter what, small usb pen drives, usb desktop harddisks.). I suspect it has to do with the Nvidia chipset. I have a Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 with a Nforce 560 chipset and I'm also experiencing this issue.

It is a completely unsupported and untested scenario. I would strongly advise people not to follow these instructions. It's also one of the last unsolved problems on this windows7 website And if you search this forum you will find plenty of people with USB problems.

It's a problem mainly among mobo's with a Nvidia chipset (MSI for example). I am pretty sure that the problem > is in the chipset/motherboard. I'm using a MSI P6NGM motherboard with the NVIDIA MCP73 > chipset and Intel quad core processor.
